As we look back over the past year it’s hard to believe that at the beginning of 2015 we were meeting every other week on a Wednesday evening in a hotel in Chester.
We are now in our third location and are meeting regularly on Sundays. God has truly blessed us. We are really excited to see where this coming year leads and where we may be at the beginning of next year! It has been wonderful to welcome people from all around the area, from all walks of life and from all different positions on faith. We have really enjoyed welcoming new people, seeing them make Vineyard 53 their church home and want to put down roots here.
We kicked off the new year on the first Sunday of January with Church Has Left The Building with a giveaway of healthy snacks – A New You for the New Year (or something like that …)

Guys’ Night In
On the first Monday of January we started our monthly visits to Richmond Court shelter for Guys’ Night In where we enjoyed snacks and played computer games and had fun with the guys
Marriage Date Night
We want to encourage our married couples to keep the romance in their relationships so we offered a Marriage Date Night earlier this month. It was really well attended with seventeen couples enjoying a great evening of fun and romance, dessert and drinks.
English Café
The English Café, for people whose first language is something other than English, is again open for business every other Wednesday morning. It has been really fun to meet new people and learn about other cultures as we share a bit about ours. Even though the building we meet in has no heating, this fun morning has proved incredibly popular.
New Small Groups
We believe that it is within the small group setting that we build community, form relationships, grow spiritually and have fun (of course) so it is always a pleasure to introduce new groups. New ones starting include a Mum’s Group in Ellesmere Port, as well as groups in Frodsham and Gwersyllt. If you haven’t been to a small group yet we would strongly encourage you to give one a try. In fact, try as many as you like until you find the one you feel most at home with.
CHLTB Feb – Inflatable Sunday
For the kids amongst us our next Church Has Left the Building will be Inflatable Sunday!!! We are super excited to be at a gym in Ellesmere Port where we will have a large inflatable thingy that both children and adults who think they’re still children can have fun (not at the same time, we’re being very sensible and responsible and keeping the kids and grown ups separate) burning off energy and meet new people.
God says ‘Hello’
Over the next few weeks on a Sunday morning we will be looking at the book of James.
