Love in Action, Ellesmere Port
We kicked off Good Friday with another Love in Action event - this time a giveaway in Ellesmere Port. We were armed with tea and coffee, squash and chocolate eggs. It turned out to be a fantastically sunny day so there weren’t too many takers for hot drinks, but it wasn’t too difficult to find takers for the chocolate eggs. Over 250 of them.
We had a good number of volunteers to help on the day, and it was a fun and simple way to express Jesus’ love to people. We’ll keep you updated about future Love in Action events.
What better way to start Easter Sunday than with champagne and croissants? About 20 of us did just that, and spent some time reflecting on the message of Easter - Jesus’ resurrection, and its importance in our lives.
In the afternoon, Graeme and Tracey opened their home for an amazing roast lamb dinner for more than 50 people. Various people arrived with roast potatoes, vegetables, drinks and cakes. (The cake selection was predictably impressive - this is Vineyard 53, after all!) It rained a little bit, but stopped in time for games, races and an Easter egg hunt in the garden for kids (and willing adults).
It was a wonderful chance hang out as a church family, and a great event to bring our neighbours, friends, and colleagues to.
If you’re wondering about Easter, Jesus or our Church, then you can watch our first four talks on the ‘Talks’ page. The audio from the next four talks, all about Jesus, will be uploaded soon.
We have our Big Wednesdays at the Crowne Plaza every other week. On a week with no Big Wednesday, our Small Groups meet. For more information on Small Groups, or to sign up to a group, go to our ‘Group Signup’ page.
