Just 3 months ago we announced to Trent Vineyard that we would be launching a new church in late 2013. And this weekend Trent, our sending church, commissioned and prayed for us as a team to go and serve the city of Chester and the surrounding areas. As many of our friends and family gathered round to pray we were reminded of the privilege it is to be sent out from such an incredible family - Anna and I have loved being part of this church for the last 10 years and we take great pride that the roots of the new church are being built on much we've learnt at Trent.
We had an incredible celebration and farewell picnic in the Youth Centre afterwards, with lots of friends joining us for plenty of food (and face-painting, bouncy castle and games for the kids - mainly)!
This weekend really did bring home the reality of the move; we’re really going to Chester! And as our practical needs threaten to distract us from the calling that brought us to this point, it seems that God’s provision for us as a team has really stepped up a notch. He is leaving us in no doubt that He wants us in Chester for His purposes, and I know that the safest place to be is riding the wave that He has us on, trying not to look down but focussing our attention on Him!
