It’s been a great couple of weeks as momentum continues to grow. Beer and Carols at Telford’s Warehouse was brilliant fun. Adam played and sang amazingly, we reclaimed the roots of early pubs by getting everyone to sing!! – including the bar staff who sang superbly. We even managed to encourage a few regulars to sing solo verses on the stage.
As well as that we’ve been thrilled to welcome more of the Vineyard53 team into Chester to help the church launch – how amazing to be part of such an exciting adventure!
We’re finding small ways to bless the people of Chester. Tomorrow morning for example we’ll be setting up a table in a shopping centre and offering to wrap peoples Christmas presents for free! No charge and no donations allowed! We’ll be giving away Christmas chocolates and offering to pray for people too.
We've been struck as we walk through the City Centre, where the thousands of shoppers, students, and families mill through the streets that we want to be people who share the life of Jesus in a relevant way, showing compassion and mercy, and blessing all those we meet.
We are close to securing a venue for a four week series in the new-year, sharing our vision and heart for the Church God is building here. Look out for details soon. We're also making plans to start a monthly activity based 'vineyard kids' event in a venue. More news about small groups to follow soon too!
So exciting times ahead!!
