Sunday 1st March 2020

We had four regional events happening across Chester, Blacon,  Ellesmere Port and North Wales.

In North Wales, we celebrated St.David's Day by having children's activities, refreshments, crafts and storytelling.

In Blacon and Ellesmere Port, we were litter picking and had flower craft to hang on people's doors and chocolate to give away.

And in Chester, our young adults gave away hundreds of Krispie Kremes to members of the public followed by a meal together.

Sunday 2nd February 2020

We had four regional events happening across Chester, Ellesmere Port and North Wales.

At Alwyn Waters in Wrexham, we supported the Junior Park Run, providing marshals to give all the regular volunteers a break for a week. This was followed by giving out baked treats and drinks to the runners.

In Chester we had a Valentine's Day giveaway, giving out heart-shaped balloons and boxes of chocolates for people to keep or give to a loved one. There was also a Young Adults Pudding Party in Chester - something to invite friends along to and build relationships.

In Ellesmere Port, there was a bacon butty giveaway and kid's craft taking place for the growing community we have there.

V53 Sports Day

We had our very first V53 Sports Day at Chester Lakes! Teams competed for a trophy by entering events like sack races, tug of war, space hooper and egg 'n' spoon races! We also had a BBQ, candyfloss, a bouncy castle, face painting and a soft play area.

Love in Action Events

We have a growing community of people in Ellesmere Port connecting in with us at The Base and other events we organise at our church offices there. We served bacon rolls and had kid's craft for people to take part in with an emphasis on relationship and community building.

The other event was working with a charity called Live! Cheshire who are all about empowering people with disabilities. We renovated their building by painting the outside walls with a new lick of paint. Made and installed new planters, trimmed the edges of the grass and re-painted the railings.

Easter Egg Hunt

Meeting on Grosvenor Park, we organised a massive Easter Egg Hunt across the surrounding area - complete with puzzles, riddles and a photo challenge! There was an Under 5s mini egg hunt, a kid's craft area, Easter reflective stations, a catapult&parachute game and a wandering chicken to catch too!

Walk and Pray

We met at three locations (Chester, Ellesmere Port and Wrexham), with prayer packs in hand, to walk around and pray for our region. Included in the packs were suggested routes, prayer pointers and kid's prayer ideas such as a view finder and a wax rubbings activity.

Fireworks Party

We've had a Fireworks Party at Chester Lakes for the last two years. This year included live music, crepes, candyfloss, fire pits, a rodeo bull, carnival games, neon face painting and of course, lots of fireworks!

Inflatable Sunday

We filled a sports hall with several bouncy castles including a gladiator duel, disco dome, giant slide and assault course! We love to create environments where we can be community together - showing something of the generous and loving heart of God.

Vineyard 53 Weekend Away

We spent a weekend together at Shell Island. It was great time to hang out as a church family and have fun together. There were BBQs, outdoor games like beach volleyball, trips to the beach, a prayer tent and some time to sing songs to Jesus.

Ice-Cream Giveaway

We acquired a shop front in Forum Shopping Centre and used it as a base area for handing out ice cream and refreshments to members of the public. There were people giving out free vouchers, serving ice cream and others chatting with people and offering to pray for them.

Renovation Projects

There were two renovation projects happening at the same time. One was the Blacon Adventure Playground which involved litter-picking, cleaning and painting doors, fencing and walls. The second was renovating the Sensory Garden for the Blind in Ellesmere Port. This involved sweeping, varnishing, gardening and planting herbs and beautiful flowers. We also installed wind chimes and night lighting.
