In the Community
Vineyard 53 is a church seeking transformation in every part of life. This means that we are active in our communities, showing God's love in practical ways. Whether you need help or want to help others, we hope you can find the information you need on this page.
Moving into an empty property after being homeless, fleeing domestic violence, seeking asylum or moving due to financial hardship can have a significant impact on our mental and physical wellbeing. With this in mind, we aim to provide practical support to individuals or families in emergency situations or facing financial hardship.
We are able to purchase items such as kettles, toasters, plates / bowls, cutlery, bins, bedding (duvets, duvet covers), curtains and other small household items. We will also provide a ‘Move in pack’ containing essentials like tea, sugar, washing up bowl, dish towels and similar. By providing some of these essentials, our aim is to give people hope that a new start is always possible! If you are a professional from a statutory agency, housing officer or support worker from a charity and would like to make a referral for someone please use this form. To donate, or to help process donations, please get in touch by email. |
We partner with Welcome Network and Welcome Boxes to help welcome and support refugees in our region. If you are a refugee or want to refer a refugee for a welcome box or other support, please head to the Welcome Network website to make contact. The details will be forwarded on to our team here at Vineyard 53 who will make contact with the individual or family. All details are stored confidentially. We also have opportunities to build relationships with refugees and to support them. If you would like more information about how you could get involved, please get in touch by email. |
We partner with ForFutures to build relationships and provide support to people who are homeless. We host a regular games night at a local hostel, building community and friendships in a safe and fun way. If you would like more information about how you could get involved, including baking cakes or snacks for the evening please get in touch by email. |
The information above covers the ways that we are currently active in our community. Check out the slide show below to find out about what we've done in the past.
