As a church, we want to take seriously the news about COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and its implications for the people of our community. We trust the abundant goodness of God and don't want to give in to fear, we do want to be wise and do our part to protect the health of everybody, especially those who are most vulnerable and also its social and economic implications.
TUESDAY 17TH MARCH Based on the latest government guidance and the closure of the University of Chester, we recognise it is no longer possible to gather physically. We have taken the difficult decision to pause all church face-to-face gatherings until further notice. This will include Sunday gatherings and mid-week activities (including the Easter Egg Hunt, which we were so looking forward to, in a couple of weeks' time).
As we shared on Sunday, it is vital during these unprecedented circumstances that we continue to be a church family. We are working hard to develop creative ways to stay connected while we are not able to meet in homes or our Sunday locations.
On Sundays we're looking to broadcast short worship gatherings via the web and social media (please join us!). We will have a number of ways to connect with new online small groups and communities, and we're working on resources for our families and children to engage with God.
There are fresh opportunities to serve and love each other in new ways at this time. It will be great to see a thriving online church community grow and for everyone in V53 to be able to access an online small group and support. We are also exploring ways we can reach out to the communities around us and will send out more information in the following days.
Please stay connected. Some of you will already be self-isolating, and we'd love to help you, so do get in touch. We are so grateful to God for the many ways we can stay connected without physically seeing each other.
Please also stay connected via social media, email or our website for information.
We are praying for you.
We love our V53 family and we are so grateful to have such an incredible group of people to do this journey with.
With love
John and Anna and the Vineyard 53 Team

If you find that you are isolated in the coming weeks, please do contact us, we would love to help in any way that we can, both practically and spiritually. We have some ideas on this front so do get in touch.
We will do our best to make thoughtful decisions about how to move forward. This is to avoid spreading infection of the Covid 19 virus, especially to the elderly and those with poor health in our community. Again, updates will be posted on our website and via email.

We remember that Jesus is Emmanuel, "God with us". Let us keep praying for the healing of our community and our world.
Thank you,
The Vineyard 53 Team
- Protection for ourselves and others from becoming ill.
- God's presence to be with those in isolation around the world and those unable to travel home.
- For those grieving through loss of loved ones.
- For the NHS and healthcare workers and all those on the front line.
- For our leaders, politicians and researchers, that they would have wisdom and guidance in how to navigate the nation through this time.
Thank you,
The Vineyard 53 Team
