Many of you are asking us how you can support others in V53 and the wider community. This page will be continually updated with tips, links and resources to help you get involved.
Be a good neighbour
When we asked the Cheshire West and Chester Council what we should do to help our community, one of the first things they asked us is to be good neighbours. Get to know the people on your street that live nearest you. Look out for those who might be lonely and isolated. Offer to support those who are self-isolating in practical ways.
To help you on this journey we've produced our own version of the I Can Help card that was originally created by Becky Wass from Falmouth in Cornwall. Click on the link below to download a version you can print at home. One family from V53 gave this out to all 136 houses on their street!

Donate to a Foodbank
Donations to Foodbanks have dropped dramatically in the past couple of weeks. Foodbanks are crucial for individuals and families that are vulnerable at this time. Please consider donating to your local Foodbank, largely via supermarket donation stations, as many other donation points are now closed.

Sign up to support our community
If you would like to help those who are self-isolating in our V53 family, please email hello@vineyard53.org and letting us know your current availability. We are putting together a list of those who are healthy and able to help with things like picking up groceries, prescriptions and other urgent errands. Once we have received your email someone will be in touch to let you know how you can help.
Help provide meals, food and necessities to the vulnerable
We are working with the local council and several other churches and charities on the following initiatives:
- Crossroads Community Hub - this hub will serve Newton, Upton and Hoole in Chester, delivering food parcels to members of the local community who are struggling to afford basic food and necessities. The delivery slots that Vineyard 53 are currently covering are Wednesdays (3pm collection).
- Meal Provision - a number of charities, churches and restaurants across Chester, are currently working to provide hot meals to around 160 vulnerable people across Chester on a daily or few times weekly basis. If you'd be interested in helping to cook hot food that can be delivered, please get in touch. And don't worry, we don't expect you to provide all 160 meals!
