Love In Action at Vineyard53
Here at V53 we believe that Jesus came into the world to show us the love of God - and we want to go into the world to demonstrate that same love. “Love in Action” is what we do because it is what God does. We are committed to finding simple, practical ways to show people they are loved.
This may mean doing something that impacts a whole community or providing for individuals or smaller groups of people in need.
If you want any more information about any of our Love in Action events or if you would like to get involved, please contact hello@vineyard53.org and check out the blog on the website for more pictures and info. Some examples of our previous 'Love in Action' projects are below.

Giveaways
A group of us went to the town centre of Ellesmere Port and gave away chocolate as well as loads of free tea and coffee. It was a wonderful opportunity to show that God is generous!
V53 Student Giveaway
A few weeks after the university term started, a group of us (armed with student gift packs) knocked on student houses and offered to do their washing up! We had some amazing responses. Some people were confused that we would want to do something like that, and others curious. As we washed up we had great conversations with some of the students about who we were and the reasons we wanted to do their dishes!
Christmas Craft
Our Love in Action projects are an opportunity to show Gods love, generosity and creativity. In the run up to Christmas we had the privilege of running a free craft session in the Christmas market. We saw 108 children and their parents come through the tent as we made hundreds of snowflakes, Christmas cards, tree decorations and had loads of creative fun!
Richmond Court
We hosted a Christmas party at a local hostel for homeless men and women in Chester run by FENW (Federation Enterprise North West). We sang carols, served loads of pizza and copious amounts of hot chocolate! A wonderful and fun way to show God's love in practical ways.
Angel Tree
Vineyard 53 has partnered with Prison Fellowship, a charity which works in prisons across the country. They run a programme called Angel Tree (http://www.prisonfellowship.org.uk/what-we-do/angel-tree/) which is an opportunity to buy presents for children whose dad's are currently in prison. This Christmas people in the church brought presents for children whose dad's could not be with them on Christmas Day. We had the privilege of delivering some of these presents and telling the mums about God's love and why people would care enough buy presents for their families.
Girls Night In/Guys Night In
On the third Monday of each month a group of us from Vineyard 53 spend the evening with the residents of a local sheltered accommodation. We share stories, play videogames (the guys), paint nails (the girls), eat snacks and build relationships. If you'd like to come along contact hello@vineyard53.org
West Cheshire Foodbank
We have a Sunday collection point where we can donate food items that are needed by people in crisis in the local area.
