Prayer
Prayer is a key part of our relationship with God. It's a two way conversation; God always hears our prayers and is ready to respond. Prayer is something that we can do anywhere and at any time, alone or with others, and is a powerful force for transforming ourselves, our community and the world.
We develop relationships with our friends through speaking and listening to them. It is the same way with God. Through speaking to him and listening to him our relationship with him is deepened and we become more connected with Him.
We run weekly prayer meetings at our office, 7am on a Tuesday and before the gatherings on Sunday mornings - email hello@vineyard53.org for more information. You're welcome to join us!
This January we're also joining with Vineyard Churches UK for 21 days of prayer.

How do we pray for ourselves?
We can talk to God as we would talk with a good friend, some people like to use a format using the letters ACTS:
A Adoration – telling God how much we love him and honour him is a great way to start our prayer time.
C Confession – telling God about things we have done wrong and saying sorry.
T Thanksgiving – saying thank you for the good things God has done for us, things that we enjoy or prayers
that have been answered.
S Supplication – asking God for what we want, no matter how large or small either for ourselves or for others.
How do we pray for others?
To make it easy, we have five easy steps to pray for others:
- Listen to the person – ask them what they want prayer for.
- Listen to God – ask God what he is saying about the situation.
- Choose a prayer to use – healing, intercession, for someone to start a relationship with Jesus
- Pray – Pray!
- Next Steps – ask how the person felt. Any follow up?
