Welcome to Vineyard 53’s Walk and Pray! Over the course of the weekend, why not go for a walk in your local vicinity and spend some time praying? Whether that's walking alone, with family or a socially-distanced walk with a friend, you can choose to do this any way you want. But, please stay in keeping with your regional restrictions.
Further below you'll find some top tips for doing a Walk and Pray, some prayer starting points, digital resources for your family and a space to send in any prayer requests or share a story.

God shapes the world by prayer. The more praying there is in the world the better the world will be, the mightier the forces against evil.
Mother Teresa
Prayer walking could seem like a crazy thing to do. But it isn't for the spiritually superior, it simply offers the opportunity to talk to God with our eyes open; to see the area that God wants us to impact.
It’s as simple as it sounds - pray as we walk, committing time to help us learn about God and his heart for this area.
To be seen or not to be seen: It’s not about being seen to be praying. It’s about seeing and praying. You can pray quietly in a volume that doesn’t draw attention or stop at various points along your walk. Silence is okay too. If you are feeling confident, why not offer to pray for someone (staying socially-distanced) you encounter along the way?
Pray the positive: Even in areas that are considered ‘dark’ or ‘desperate’, pray good things for that area.
Focus on God’s plan, purpose and destiny for the place and people there. “Your Kingdom come, your will be done...” makes an excellent start!
Pray in response to what you see: A landmark or a building, a person or a street may stir you to pray. That could be the Holy Spirit asking you to partner with Him and pray for those things and what they represent.
Speak words of life over this region: Pray for the different areas of culture. If it's useful to you, use the rest of this webpage to help you pray for the area you’re in, church and beyond. That people would find life in God!
Have a listen: Why not try having a listen to what God may be saying? After all, prayer is a two-way communication. Perhaps a person, place or situation pops into your head - what might God want you to pray for?

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.
1 John 5:14
- The economy - wisdom for business and political leaders as they navigate this extremely difficult situation.
- Those that have lost their jobs and those facing financial difficulty.
- Frontline staff and key workers.
- Businesses and organisations that have struggled in this season.
- For vulnerable children and families, for children facing poverty, abuse or neglect - that God would protect them and provide for them whilst they are at home, that their needs would not be hidden or overlooked.
- For those using Foodbanks, that they would know God's love and provision.
- For those struggling with their mental health - that God would be a source of peace despite the surrounding difficulties.
- For us as followers of Jesus that we would would hear His call to serve, for wisdom as we respond to the need around us, for us to have courage to step out and serve those most in need.
- For other churches, charities and community groups in this region.
Can I be honest with you? I'm actually not into prayer. I’m into Jesus, so we talk. I don’t believe in the power of prayer. I believe in the power of God. So I ask for his help. A lot.
