Why is wellbeing important?
During and after the pandemic, wellbeing will increasingly be one of the biggest needs in our society.
We know that Jesus is ultimately the source of all healing and wellbeing. But we also know there are so many different ways that people can come to know Jesus, and even for those who do know Him, it’s sometimes a longer journey to healing and wholeness.
At Vineyard 53, we want to provide a different and wide front door into community and life with God. And at the same time, mobilise those in church to partner with Him to see His Kingdom extend here and now, for good in our city and region, to serve those in need and be part of something bigger than ourselves.

Introducing Thrive
A wellbeing centre has been a God-given dream for Vineyard 53 since day one. We want to catalyse a response to the growing need for emotional health and wellbeing in our church and region.
We have an opportunity to reimagine the future and what it means to serve the city. An opportunity to invite people into shaping something that impacts those around us. While jumping straight into a building would be awesome, the reality is we’re in a pandemic and having our own space is still a little way off. As a starting point we have created a website called Thrive. A central hub that will consist of wellbeing resources, events, a forum and blog. This will serve as a platform in which wellbeing at Vineyard 53 can grow and develop. A framework with an emphasis on the digital to begin with that will eventually transition into a building. |

Our Vision
We want to see this region thrive. We want the people of West Cheshire and North Wales to be mentally, physically, relationally and spiritually healthy.
We view health and wellbeing as holistic; physical, emotional, relational and spiritual. If we want to thrive, then we’ve got to look after all these aspects of who we are. We want to provide a hub of resources, support and community to see the people of West Cheshire and North Wales thrive.
Ultimately, we want the people of our region to find wholistic transformation in Jesus.

Four Wellbeing Areas
We currently have four umbrella wellbeing areas:
Be Present - Our mental and emotional wellbeing
We believe our mental and emotional wellbeing has a huge impact on how we think, feel and act. From how we relate to those around us, how we view ourselves and others, through to how we respond to stress and times of crisis - taking care of our mental and emotional lives is a vital part of living a healthy life. |
Be Active - Our physical wellbeing
We believe that taking care of our physical bodies will have a positive impact on our overall wellbeing. How we treat our bodies, through exercise, diet and sleep, not only keeps us physically healthy, but also has a profound impact on our mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing. |
Be Whole - Our spiritual wellbeing
We believe that human beings are not only a collection of chemicals and electrical signals - there is more to life than this. Taking care of our spiritual wellbeing recognises the importance of life’s deeper meaning - discovering who we really are and why we are here. |
Why not get involved?
We believe that everyone gets to be part of this - whether that is accessing the wellbeing resources and events to help you in your wellbeing or helping with this new adventure!
There are going to be many opportunities to organise events, create resources and dream up ways to help people with their wellbeing. We would love as many people from Vineyard 53 to help make this happen - so do get in touch if you want to be involved! |
