We all need support sometimes. If you're a member of V53 and you're looking for support. Or, if you're from the wider community and you're wondering what churches are doing. Here are a few of the ways we will try to help.
If you're a member of Vineyard 53
If you're a member of Vineyard 53 and you're self-isolating, please contact your Small Group leader and hello@vineyard53.org and let us know if we can help. There are people available that would love too help with picking up food, prescriptions and other essentials supplies. As well as, being available to chat and pray with you over the phone or online.
If you need financial support
We know this situation has significant financial implications for many people.
It may be that you and your family need to consider applying for benefits for the first time, or at least in the interim until the situation stabilises. Here are a few things that may help:
It may be that you and your family need to consider applying for benefits for the first time, or at least in the interim until the situation stabilises. Here are a few things that may help:
- You can apply for Universal Credit via the gov.uk website. There is new guidance on making claims and people will not be asked to come into the Jobcentre for any unnecessary appointments. There will also be no waiting days for new claims. Jobcentres have requested that people who want to make a claim apply online.
- We often run CAP Money Course small groups, for advice and practical help with budgeting and money management. We plan to start more in the coming weeks. Over 3 sessions, this relaxed and informal course, will take you through practical exercises to help you get and stay in control of your finances. You won't be expected to share anything you don't want to. You don't need to be a member of V53 to sign up for this group. For more information and to sign up click here.
- A number of small business owners and managers in our church are meeting up online to share thoughts and ideas, and to support each other during this period of uncertainty. If you would like to be involved email hello@vineyard53.org.
- If your financial situation is becoming overwhelming please contact us at hello@vineyard53.org.
If you're struggling to afford basic necessitiesVineyard 53, along with a number of other churches and charities are partnering with West Cheshire Foodbank to provide emergency food rations to people that need it during the COVID-19 crisis. Food parcels are being distributed via regional hubs, with the support of local voluntary groups. If you need a referral please contact the council or citizens advice bureau.

How can we pray for you?
We want you to know that during this unique time, your cares, concerns, and joys are important to us. Although we can no longer offer physical prayer in a church building, we are committed to joining with you in prayer as we navigate this season as a community.
"And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people." - Ephesians 6:18
